Redesigned the Touch Surgery app to improve learning, engagement, and accessibility for surgeons worldwide.

As a Product Designer at Touch Surgery, I led the end to end UX/UI redesign of the mobile app, transforming it from an outdated, crashprone interface into an intuitive, scalable, and accessible learning platform used by surgical professionals around the globe!

Impact & Key Results

📈 User Base Growth from 100K to 2M+ and 500% Increase in Monthly Engagement – The redesigned app attracted a significantly larger audience and encouraged users to return more often and engage more deeply.

🌍 Adopted by 160+ Surgical Residency Programs – Including Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Stanford.

📱 Improved Accessibility & Multi-Device Support – Designed for performance across phones and tablets.

Challenge

The original app suffered from inconsistent UI, high crash rates, poor mobile optimisation, and a lack of engagement. It failed to align with native iOS/Android guidelines and didn’t support offline use, essential for hospital environments.

Solution

A full UX/UI redesign, introducing:

  • A cleaner, consistent design system across platforms.

  • A simplified learning experience with reduced cognitive load.

  • Offline simulation access for use in low connectivity hospital environments.

  • A complete information architecture refresh with updated tone of voice and UI patterns.
